I have successfully turned off the automatic start up whenever the lid is open, but 2018 MBP also starts up automatically whenever I press any key or touchpad. It is annoying when I am cleaning the computer.

Open the lid, computer starts up and after it has finished booting up, then while keeping the lid open, shut the computer down again. Then clean the keys and the trackpad and the screen, too, if so desired. When finished, simply press the power button and the machine turns on and boots up again.
